পলাশবাড়ী সরকারি কলেজ গাইবান্ধা জেলার অন্যতম স্বনামধন্য শিক্ষা প্রতিষ্ঠান।মুক্তিযুদ্ধ পূর্বকালিন এ প্রতিষ্ঠানটি বাংলাদেশের জন্মলগ্ন থেকেই এ অঞ্চলের শিক্ষা বিস্তারে অগ্রণী ভূমিকা পালন করছে। প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক কার্যক্রম ১৯৬৬ সালে শুরু করলেও জাতীয়করণ হয় ১৯৮৮ সালে। কলেজ পর্যায়ে প্রায় কোর্সে বাংলা বাধ্যতামূলক বিষয় ,এই সুবাদে প্রতিষ্ঠাকাল থেকেই বাংলা কলেজটির শিক্ষা - সংস্কৃতি ক্ষেত্রে পথিকৃতের ভূমিকা পালন করে আসছে। বর্তমানে বাংলা বিভাগ ইন্টারমেডিয়েট,অনার্স ও ডিগ্রী বিষয়ে নিয়মিত পাঠদান করছে।প্রতিষ্ঠার দিক থেকে অন্যান্য অনার্স বিভাগ গুলোর মধ্যে বাংলা বিভাগ অগ্রদূতের ভূমিকা পালন করেছে। বিভাগটিতে (২০১৪-২০১৫) সেশনে অনার্স বিষয়ে প্রথম ছাত্রছাত্রী ভর্তি করানো হয়। জাতীয় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের পাঠ্যক্রমের সঙ্গতিপূর্ণ সার্বিক উপযোগিতা ও অভিজ্ঞ শিক্ষক বিভাগটিকে করেছে অনন্য। বর্তমানে বিভাগটি ছাত্রছাত্রীদেরকে একটি সমৃদ্ধ সেমিনার লাইব্রেরীর মাধ্যমে পড়াশুনার সুযোগ সুবিধা দান,সেমিনার কার্ড ব্যবহার করে বই ধার নেয়া,অনলাইন ভর্তিপ্রক্রিয়া ও সহশিক্ষামূলক বিভিন্ন কার্যক্রমে অংশগ্রহণের সুবিধা প্রদানের মাধ্যমে এগিয়ে যাচ্ছে। এখানে সকল শিক্ষক বি সি এস শিক্ষা ক্যাডার থেকে নিয়োগপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা ,যারা শিক্ষা ও সংস্কৃতি বিষয়ে নিবেদিত প্রাণ । আমাদের সুসজ্জিত এই বিভাগটি অনার্স ভবনের তৃতীয় তলায় অবস্থিত। বর্তমানে সরকারের SDG-4 বাস্তবায়নসহ ডিজিটাল বাংলাদেশ বিনির্মানে বিভাগটি নিরলস কাজ করে যাচ্ছে।
Palashbari Government College is one of the reputed academic institutions in Gaibandha. It launched it's academic activities in 1966 and got nationalized in 1988. Bangla is a compulsory course for all college level courses. Our Dept. has been conducting it's role very sacredly and effectively since it's inception. Bangla Dept. is the pioneer role playing Hon's Dept. as it is opened first of all four Hon's Dept. in our college. Our Dept. has been serving the students with various aminities including seminar card, book registration, a good stock of books in library, online admission and co-curricular activities. Here, all the teachers are BCS education cadre. They are highly devoted to education as officers and teachers both. Our well furnished Dept. is housed in third floor of Hon's building. The department is working it's best for contributing to attain SDG-4 and constructing Digital Bangladesh.
